Once you have secured a place to build, it is time to choose your home design and finishes in the PSA phase. Our core home plan designs—the Värm, Xyla, Zum, Tradd, and Nano—each have their own style and unique benefits. You can choose one of our ready-to-build plans under the “Express” route for maximum cost and time efficiency, or choose any of our plans as a starting point for a “Streamlined” plan where you can modify the design. We will give you options for vetted local general contractors in your area, who will help with the site preparation and finishes later on. You can choose to source your finishing materials through Unity to save time and ensure timely delivery right to your site. We also provide resources to help secure your financing, allowing for a smooth transition to signing the construction contract.

Once your design is finalized and permits are secured, it’s time for the build phase! While your general contractor prepares your site, Unity begins crafting the shell of your home in our cutting-edge off-site factory. As leaders in off-site manufacturing, we employ CNC technology to meticulously craft every panelized component, ensuring minimal waste and a precise, air-tight fit. Guided by detailed 3D models, our climate-controlled facility produces high-performance floor, roof, and wall panels with integrated insulation and sheathing. This parallel processing shortens construction timelines, allowing us to assemble your home swiftly all while meeting rigorous standards of performance and sustainability.

One of the most exciting steps in the process is watching your home come to life during the raising. We send our skilled Building Systems crew to raise the shell of your home using the prefabricated components from our factory. The shell includes the insulated high-performance exterior envelope with insulated wall and roof panels, installed windows and doors, interior partition walls, interior service layer, floor systems, and any timber frame that may be part of the design. Our homes are typically raised in only 1-2 weeks, minimizing exposure to elements and disruption to neighbors. Following assembly, our crew performs a rigorous blower door test to ensure airtightness. The results are often at least five times better than code requirements.

Once the shell of your home is raised and weather-tight, your local builder begins adding the finishing touches that start to make your house feel like home. This phase includes installing plumbing and electrical systems, as well as drywall, siding, trim, mechanicals, flooring, and paint.
