The Zūm is Unity’s contemporary design platform, our nod to the clean lines and strong geometric forms commonly found in publications like Dwell. Soaring vaulted ceilings supported by exposed timbers give a feeling of expansiveness to the open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. Large windows frame outside views and bring in natural daylight. Sunshades above the windows help to keep the home cool during summer.
Zūms range in size from 1,000 to 1,800 square feet, with the smallest having one bedroom and the largest four. With its single-level living and clear separation of public and private space, the Zūm is popular with boomers who are downsizing but who also want space—although not too much space!—for guests. Because the bedrooms are located at either end of the main living area, they become private sanctuaries.
Exterior decks are popular add-ons to Zūms, as are attached garages. We’ve also built carports for Zūms, which of course we call “Zūmports.”

Unity’s show home is a Zūm that we assembled in three different places at three different times: first in our production facility, then during 3 busy days at the 2015 Greenbuild Conference in Washington D.C., and finally at its current location, on a permanent foundation in Walpole, NH. We’re proud of the recognition that the show home has garnered: it achieved LEED Gold, and is the first certified Net Zero Ready home in New Hampshire. But visitors to our show home tend to be most impressed by the way the home looks, feels and “lives.” We welcome you to experience it yourself!
